My All Natural Daily, Weekly, & Monthly Skin Care Regimen

I turned 39 a little over a month ago, and for the first time noticed signs of aging on my face. As a busy mother of three, I, admittedly, haven’t spent a whole lot of time caring for myself. My skin care routine consisted of washing my face with soap and water, followed by a little coconut oil to combat the dryness. I realized that I am getting older…there is no denying it anymore, and it’s time to up my skin care game. Just a note, don’t wait until you are in your late 30’s to start caring for your skin. Start young, and be consistent.
My skin tends to be dry, especially in the winter (Canadian winters can be especially harsh). I needed to come up with a routine that helped keep my skin moisturized. It is also important to me that the products that I put on my skin daily are safe and natural. Here is what I came up with:
My morning and evening routines are the same. I wash my face with Dr. Bronner’s Peppermint Castille Soap. I love this because you only need a couple of drops to work up a lather, so one bottle will last a very long time. After I wash my face, I pat it lightly dry. I then rub together a dollop of Sukin Facial Moisturizer and 5-6 drops of Jojoba oil, and I work it into my face and neck. I always find it amazing how well this moisturizer absorbs into my skin.
Once a week, I like to do a Honey and Brown Sugar Scrub. I love how it leaves my face feeling so soft and smooth. Honey has some great natural moisturizing and anti-bacterial properties which is great for tackling both dry skin and hair.
Once a month, I deep clean with a home made clay mask, using Bentonite Clay. This mask is great for combating blackheads and acne. Sometimes, I also use it in my hair to restore my hair’s shine and add life to my curls.
My skin has dramatically changed for the better, even in just one month of implementing this skin care routine. I am even noticing that my fine lines are less prominent!
